Exactly 50 years ago this month (April 1964), Victor won the Romanian National Weightlifting Championship held in the “Army Hall” in Cluj (Klausenburg), Transylvania.
The championship was open to men 21 year old and younger, and included three olympic-style lifting events: Clean and Press (discontinued as an olympic style in 1972), Snatch, and Clean and Jerk. (Photography has improved somewhat since those days)
