This review is from: Dracula Chronicles: Empire of the Crescent Moon (Kindle Edition)
Once again, I’m not a fan of “undead, blood-sucking villains.” This book does not follow the Hollywood version of Dracula; what it is is historical fiction. And what a tale! Foia takes his life’s passion and transforms it into a story that anyone curious about life, strife, and conflict in the time of the Crusades will enjoy. Violence? Some, but not excessive or gratuitous. Sex? Yes, but, again, only enough to accurately portray the psyche of the characters as well as the passions that make up their personalities. Folia knows his characters and writes in a manner that allows the reader to know them too. If I were to criticize anything it would be the interval between volumes – c’mon, Victor, get busy and turn out the next and subsequent volumes faster!
