When writing a multivolume series, the author encounters many challenges absent from the writing of single volume books. Among these challenges continuity ranks high alongside a few others. A volume must be consistent in tone and texture with its predecessor(s), while at the same time evolve in a manner congruent with the aging of the characters and changes in the theater of operations. This very perceptive reader has zeroed in on this aspect of the craft and has given high marks to the author in his pursuit of continuity. Thank you reader Rose D.

This review is from: Dracula Chronicles: Empire of the Crescent Moon (Volume 2) (Paperback)
Empire of the Crescent Moon resumes Vlad’s saga with the author once again excellently capturing and pulling the reader back in time as Vlad faces yet more intensive struggles and maturation difficulties. Volume one barely holds a candle to this second volume when it comes to vivid rawness. Graphic text may give some readers pause; however, the excitement carries the reader forward at an admirable clip as the plot develops, and this volume very well set up by volume one plays out a remarkable continuity that leaves the reader looking for volume three to remain on the journey!
