Book Two Amazon Review
5.0 out of 5 stars Two for two!!, April 17, 2014

Verified Purchase(What’s this?)

I just recently posted my review for Victor Foia’s “Son of the Dragon”, and gave it raving reviews. Now I have the honor of turning around and doing the exact same for book two, “Empire of the Crescent Moon”.

The book picks up precisely where it left off, so if you haven’t read the first one you’ll be slightly confused. We are then sent into an amazing journey with Vlad as he is faced with situations that would make most people cower in fear. We see deeper into his psyche, and learn more about the boy prince of Wallachia.

The thing I think I love most about Victor Foia’s work is the new dynamic he brings to a person whose name is well known. So many portray him as ruthless and bloodthirsty, or focus merely on his infamous attributes. Foia presents the character as more of a hero. He captures many of the terrible events and circumstances of the times, but manages to portray them with the child-like innocence that Vlad sees it all in. What I mean is, we as adults understand why a certain action is wrong, or why a particular plan won’t work, but Vlad’s too full of adolescent pride and stubbornness to see that for himself.

Victor Foia once again peels apart the layers of a complex individual, and throws his readers into a story that leaves you sitting on the edge of your seat, your heart pounding, and you immediately begin to crave more before you’ve even finished the last page.

I will also say this: The author himself is a very engaging person. He interacts with all of his fans on twitter (that is the only social media outlet on which I follow him, so I cannot speak for if he does the same elsewhere), and isn’t afraid to strike up conversations. If you want to feel special because an author tweeted you back, this is your guy.

I cannot WAIT for book three to come out!
